BNP was founded
September 1st, 1978
Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP was founded by the then elected President Ziaur Rahman Biruttam with a vision of uniting the people with Bangladeshi Nationalism.
BNP won 2nd parliament polls
February 18th, 1979

The BNP won the 2nd national parliament election on February 18, 1979. The party won 207 seats out of the 300 seats.
Multiparty democracy
March 14th, 1979
The fifth amendment of the constitution was passed through which the journey of multi party of democracy was started instead of one party BAKSAl system
Ziaur Rahman assasinated
May 30th, 1981
